Closed the deal on my 450/400 Sabatti SxS today at Cabelas in Maine. I live in NH, and won't get to play with it until it is transferred to my local FFL, which saved me a bunch of money vs. paying Maine sales tax. She is a beauty, feels GREAT, and I CAN'T wait !!! I have occupied myself with cheapy Remington 45/70's and 30-06, a Kodiak 8x57 hammer, German 8x57, a 9.3 Chapuis and Sarasqueta 375 SxS's, NONE have satisfied me, because I wanted a REAL elephant gun like the childhood heroes I read about. It is no fancy British gun but man, it is nice, and I can ACTUALLY afford to buy it!! Sorry for my little kid rant but I have been waiting my whole life for this, and the only guy that matters to me,and could have appreciated my moment,my best friend and Dad, passed away in Feb. I never joined the double rifle club because I never felt worthy. Now I do. I figure if anyone will understand, you guys will.
Thanks
Rick

Congrats on the double. Also glad to have played a part in financing it. I shoot a 450/400 as well-you will love it.

I was in my late 40's when I bought my first, and to date ONLY D/R.

I congratulate you and I agree that it is a very usable caliber what

ever you might be hunting. I think that a well made 375 H&H flanged

mag could also have done nice work for you, since you said you have
had one! Enjoy your new rifle to the utmost! wave
