I have not but I think that is a good thing.Engraving adds more character to a rifle.Another thing that adds character is the number of trips it's been on.Whatever you do don't do a charging animal engraving.I think these will ruin a fine rifle-no matter how good there done.Oh yes,and take your time.

Just a heads up, my shop will be closed till the first of March due to a hip replacement surgery. If you decide to have the engraving done get in touch with me around the first of march.

I'm not a gunsmith, but if the action has been hardened, can it still be engraved?

Thanks for the invite. I stopped going to SCI as I hate the organization. I will go to Dallas next year. If you are there, I will buy.

Cal, You are right in the thought that if the action is hardened then it will have to be annealed prior to having any engraving done. That's why it is always good to send it to the manufacturer for this procedure. If this can't be done then send it to a quality gunsmiths that can anneal the parts and send them to an engraver. When the engraver is finished then he will send it to the gunsmith to be hardened an then reassembled.

Good luck Butch. I have had both hips replaced. You will be back on you feet and free of pain faster than you can believe. Rehab is work but well worth it. Cheers
