There isn't a deer or antelope alive that can squeeze between those shots, let alone any larger animal. .

Gents: Went shooting today at my home range. Shot a .375 Cogswelll and Harrison takedown from the 1920s (I hate bolt actions!), some clays with my 12-bore Roland Watson ble, targeted some black and smokeless loads with my 12-bore double rifle by Whistler, and six shots with my .350 no2 Rigby. The 12-bore and .375 were shot off my table at 40 yards and the .350 from my standing rest which is 50 yards and off camera to the right. I don't understand the .350. I've never owned, or shot, nor known someone who has, a double this accurate. The target below is 52 1/2 grains of IMR 3031, average fps of six shots 2565 fps, and the damn group is about one inch. It is high and I'm shooting with the scope that came with the rifle as the front sight is broken and to the side. (I will take this to the 'smith Wednesday). Most doubles' groups open up with the addition of a telescope (this one is a Leopold 1.5-5X VX III. I'm amazed at the accuracy. Like I said, I've never encountered this prior. And, Jim, it is great having a range in my front yard! The stove pipe in the building is so I can heat the building in winter and shoot from a sliding window to the target stand at 50 yards. Life is great! Time to take it to 150 yards. Then take it hunting. Nitro "Man is a predator or at least those of us that kill and eat our own meat are. The rest are scavengers, eating what others kill for them." Great little rifle, and a shooter as well! This thread is a perfect example for the true fact that to get the best from any double rifle one must hand load! ......................................................................Good shooting Cal! ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

This is a particularly gorgeous rifle, even amongst heady competition.
