I've just returned from Germany and snapped some photos of the new HEYM chopper-lump barrels.

These shown are in 450 NE, but they are available in any caliber on any one of our 4 double rifle frame sizes.

Chopper-Lump on Left, Shoe-Lump on Right.

Chris, will that be an option on all models...or reserved for special orders, or maybe sidelock rifles?

Chris,

It was nice seeing you in Germany at the factory and great to see how these double rifles are manufactured and brought to life.

This really allowed for an opportunity to better understand how these rifles are transformed from rough material into the fine weapons we had an opportunity to handle and shoot.

This barrel option should be a great feature that will be well received! Hope to be traveling home in the next few days and will give you a call when I get back.

Best always,
Shawn

What are the main benefits of this barrel design? How would the gun differ appearance-wise externally?

No seam or rings where the barrels are sleeved onto a mono-bloc, for one thing. Old school tradition is probably the most meaningful reason.
