Gents:
There is a reason why there is no return policy and only cashier's checks and postal money orders are acceptable for payment. At 750$ this is the lowest-end double on the planet. You get what you pay for.
On the positive side, this would make a high-end and expensive boat anchor for the up scale yacht club member.
Cheers,
Cal

The whole reason I didn't buy one when they were $500 distributer closeouts was there was no regulation at all. I couldn't find anyone who could say any more then you were lucky if you could get them regulated and at what load who knows.

Some have them, developed a pet load and really enjoy them. I wasn't willing to take the risk.

I'm having fun playing with mine. I have each barrel shooting cloverleafs at 25 yards with three different bullets and two powders and it will put three bullets touching each other out of either barrel, just not anywhere near the other barrel.........yet.

I didn't get the regulating instructions when I picked up my gun but now that I have them I'm learning the quirks of the rifle and how things react. My rifle is very sensitive to bullet weight but it doesn't seem to care about powder charge variations. A 2 0r 3 grain variation in powder charges puts the bullets within the same grouping.

300 grain loads at 2200 fps shoot almost a foot higher at 25 yards than the 350 grain bullet at 1900 fps. So that gives me something to play with when it comes to regulating it.

Every trip to the range or ranch I bring the shooting sticks and try different loads. It's fun to pay with.

No regulation? Regulation is adjustable.
Get what you pay for?

I'll bet a $100 bill that my 30 06 Baikal will shoot 2 shots from each barrel into a 1.25 group at 50 yards. Yes, they look like shit, they have terrible triggers and the comb is to high. But my smith fixed the triggers and I added a red dot. A good solid rifle to take hunting in bad weather and a fun range rifle that is cheap to feed. I don't have to worry about scratching it or banging it around.

IMO the best bang for the buck in the double market. Now that I think of it, the Baikal goes to the range more often than any other double in my safe.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I tried selling them. They are built like crap because thats what they are. I'm sure they could find use as a cheater bar or jack handle.

Gents:
I almost take back my above post after seeing the post about the double barrel gunsmithing from J White in Maine that is here also.
Frank: Keep posting as the girl is so enjoyable to watch. Better yet, you don't have to write anything, just keep posting the gal.
Cheers all,
Cal
