I broke a rib and have not shot anything lately.
Will shoot with the 20-ounce scope and see how much difference it makes with same load,
and post the evidence.
Then I am reverting to a lighter scope and re-regulating.
Yes, the Monster scope on the 6.5# gun is ridiculous.

Another thought:
Load the roundball ammo in RMC 2-5/8" brass only: Always uniform.
Also easily predictable pressures from QuickLOAD.
Also requires only a foam wad that is less likely to kill a chronograph.

Use whatever sight and just make the balls go faster until they shoot parallel instead of diverged.
Or, settle for a modest load and do the re-regulation.

Non-uniformity of factory loaded sabots is the bugaboo here.
Making handloads with plastic hulls and roundballs is also quite tedious, to get uniform with a roll crimp.
Heavy RMC brass will be much easier to get uniform.
A uniform load is a must for regulation.
That is a fact.

The "pound and a half" of scope and rings did not help.
Going from a half pound to a pound helped more than the last step up to 1.5 pound sights:



I finally risked a couple of shots over the chronograph and was shocked to see how slow my 330-grain 20-bore balls were going.
Only averaged about 1380 fps, but there was only 3 fps difference between the only two shots dared.
No chronograph killed.

It will be easy to make the barrels converge with increased velocity,
but the vertical spread is going to need Re-Regulation!

I am going to stick to RMC brass and round balls for the ultimate in consistency, and much higher velocity is possible with that combo.
