Yes...is there really a difference to be considered between this lot..??

Or should we say all of them suffice and/or else to for a .577..?

I bought my .450NE as a good "all around" big game double that would also have some (limited) utility hunting here in Montana. If it was ele specific I would definitely buy the .500 as I know that it gives a little more thump to whatever is being shot.

I think the recoil comes into the equation right around the 500NE mark.

Any of the three would do the job, but I have always been intrigued by the 476WRNE. 520grs @ 2100fps nominal.

The 450NE would be easiest to scrounge ammo for I think, followed by the 500.

JPK, I couldn't agree more. My .450 and .475 were relatively equal in recoil and a pleasure to shoot. My .500 is definitely a step up. Not as pleasant.

475 #2 Jeffery. .488 500 grain bullet. Probably the most underrated and unknown double rifle calibers for dangerous game.

Rather than bigger than .458" in diameter and retaining the 450's 480gr bullet, I like the 520grs of the 476WR. Between the 450NE and the 500NE in bullet weight and diameter (so is the 470, but the bullet weight of the WR is closer to center.)

That's why I've been intrigued anyway.

Yep WR with a 3" case and a 520 grain bullet, good loading density, and a heavy for caliber bullet. The best of the lot!
