| Weren't White Hunters made in 425 WR, and a lower-end offering? |

| No, they were AFAIR, a 1950s side-by-side plain boxlock, maybe ejector, in .500 and .470? If you check out Westley's Explora blog they are mentioned there someplace. |

One should obtain a factory letter. I have a WR where the numbers don't match, but a factory letter confirmed that the barrels were started for a different rifle, before being finalized to the later receiver, which has a different number. Machts-Nichts so long as it left the factory that way. |

| Already done, they're not the correct barrels. This is just a buyer beware post. |

Is this a rifle for sale in Melbourne at the moment? If so, I think I know where it is. It looks short and chunky and pleasingly engraved, if nothing else. |

| The WR "White Hunter" was a good basic rifle. I'm not sure who actually made them. Perhaps WR? I've seen them usually in .470 and .500. but also have seen one .577 and a .500/.465.
Some had 22" bbls. but are usually 24" or 25". |
