A few others from the collection of the Maharaja of Cooch Behar. Very reasonably priced, if they are in good shape.

One of the auctions refers to a book / diary written by the maharaja in 1908 that I may have a copy of.

That triggered some serious heart racing nostalgia.

Way back in 1976 when at university I had the privilege of being invited to a beat shoot for wild boar in India.

The host was a Movie studio owner from Madras and is son-in-law to be was a university friend.

This guy owned a pair of Wesley Richards double rifles made for the Maharaja of Cooch Behar on 1963. The 476 WR NE was a real classic with a single trigger and a barrel selector slide in front of the trigger. The 280 was a rimless case (not sure which version) and real little beauty made for the Maharani as per engraving. I got the privilege of using that rifle! It was a perfect fit for me and mounted so well and on target at 200 meters on a flushing Muntjack but that was too quick for a shot. I never got to fire the rifles.

About 10 years ago I tried to track them down but no luck.
