Embarrassing, but I cannot get the forearm back on my double. Inadvertently decocked the rifle. I assume that is my problem. If so, how do I cock it without the forearm on? Thank you. Any help would be appreciated. I hunt, not to kill, but in order not to have played golf.... DRSS

Might want to call Chris Sells at Heym (in Texas). I'm sure he could advise you.

I do not own a Heym double. Mine is a VC Demas. I have decocked the locks by firing the triggers with the face on a wooden block. I just hook the barrels on and it cocks the rifle again when shut. Then I put on the fore end. I do the same with SXS shotgun. Not sure if that would work on a Heym "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

I had the same problem with my 88 PH when it was brand new. At that stage (before I got snap caps) it would probably have been cocked when I took the fore end off. Anyway, the dealer who sold it to me came and took it, got some 'smith to fix it and it's been fine since.

Open the action putting on the fore end. Just to clarify, and I’ve done this many times to include the Heym 88B, while installing the fore end, just slightly open the action and it will pop on.
