Yes - Bass Pro does have one in Denver - I've held it (over and over). It's a beautiful rifle with a leather covered pad - It is a 600, however...

Got a very nice V/C 577 N.E, from Biebs last fall, have worked up very accurate loads for it w/ H-4350 and the 750 gn Barnes TSX and Banded solids.
Perfect regulation to the sights @2085 fps, however I did break the front trigger twice hanging on to that shoulder poundin' beast.

However a couple trips out to Enid to see JJ and let him work his magic, I'm happy to say all is good, and have fired around 80 trouble free loads since repair.

Regards all,
JM

I haven’t heard anything but good things about Searcy, but I sent several emails and PM to Searcy and never got a reply from him. All my emails and PM went unanswered.

Butch is a real man and he does things the traditional way. If you want to talk to Butch pick up the phone and call him he'll be more than happy to actually talk to you for as long as you'd like. Butch doesn't do E-mail.

I'd much rather TALK to somebody than send an e-mail and wait for a response.

Here is his number.

(760) 762-6131

Think about it..How many companies today are there where you can actually pick up the phone and speak at length and in detail with the owner and chief technical expert? Butch is friggin AWESOME in that regard.

I also called, but didn't leave a message. I guess I just had bad luck because as I said before I have not heard anything but good things about him.
Thanks for the number. it is a little bit late to call him since I already bought a rifle, but maybe in the future.

With all respect I can't imagine packing a 700 N.E. around all day in the hot sun! or being able to mount it in a hurry to shoot something after that trek, the when I pulled the trigger, having to get PH, tracker, and water boy together to pull my thumb out of my nose!! shocker Thats one big muther!! I would love to see an elephant shot in the heart with one and see how many tracks he makes..

trust me anything i shot with the 700 nitro didnt go very far altho i liked the double rifle idea i think id rather prefer the 700 nitro as a single shot in a falling block style action if any 1 knows a rifle smith that will take such a project on let me know.

Have you tried Martini and Hagn?

There is. Nick Makinson. www.nickmakinson.com Apparently makes some beauties.
