ejector problem, BSS Searcy

My BSS Searcy 470 is having problems with the left ejector. It seems that the problem is a failure to cock the ejector spring, rather than a failure to release it and eject. The malfunction is intermittant. I can manually cock both ejectors on a table edge. On firing, when I open the gun and pull the fore end, sometimes the left ejector has failed to cock. Anyone have experience with something like this? I've cleaned and lubricated everything. The only thing I haven't done is take the upper part of the fore end mechanism apart, just removed it from the wood and sprayed it out with solvent, compressed air, and lubricated it.

700Nitro, is correct, give Butch a call, and ask what you should do. He will most likely tell you what to look for and get back to him. If it is wear, and that is most likely the case, with the cocking engagement, then he will most likely ask you to send it to him, for some tender love and care!

While I've got you here let me ask is your rifle a single trigger or a double trigger?

I had the same problem with a new model PH a couple of years ago, sent it to Butch and he fixed it in quick order.

Thanks. I'll call Butch.
My rifle has a double trigger. The trigger guard is just a bit crowded, as I think all these shotguns came with a single trigger.
