I agree on the chambering, and the make as well! Congratulations. I have several double rifles, and that is my favorite chambering as well.

Very nice! I looked at one while I was in Dallas and was able to handle it as well. I was surprised at how stiff it was to close. I mean REALLY stiff. Have you found yours to be the same? Do they ease up with some use? Thanks

Yeah it's pretty stiff but I think that's normal when doubles are new, I've only fired 6 rounds through it so far but I did apply grease to the hinge pin and bearing surfaces.

Love my Chapuis 450-400, but after a lot of shooting, still WAY too stiff. Sent it to J.J. for adjustments, just right now.

I bought a used 9,3x74r here and didn’t notice it being stiff. I went to Beretta Gallery here (they bought Chapuis) and handled a few of them and incredibly difficult to break open. However, I do think they are one of the best values for what you get in a double.

All are hard to open? Id sure get that fixed before I hunted DG with it..Its more of a problem than some seem to think, sometimes you need to reload in a big time hurry, two fast shots followd by two more fast shot is the dubles claim to fame. They will loosen with shooting, but it takes a hell of a lot of shooting...Thoses barrel should all but fall open with the weight of the barrels...Id make then fix that..and you can sometimes fix it yourself by taking the ejectors out, you don't need the ejectors anyway, extractors are much better...
