I received the VC 500 on Tuesday last week that I bought from Sam. I got in several boxes of Hornady ammo that I got from Ken Buch on Wednesday. I loaded a few rounds with the load data that Sam sent with the rifle and headed to the range today to try it out. I shot two rounds to start with at 25yds (off sticks) and it just crushed two clay targets. I put two more rounds in it and crushed another clay target on the 25yd berm. I then targeted a bowling pin that was partially visible over the top of the 25yd berm and sent it flying all the way to the 50yd berm. I then switched to 50yds and crushed two more clay targets. When I turned around to get a few more shells out, I realized that the other shooters on the line were now standing behind me just watching. They asked me to shoot a flat rock that was sticking out of a dirt bank about 120yds down range. It was about 12" X 12". I fired 4 factory rounds at it and hit it all 4 times. I fired a few more rounds on paper at 25 and 50yds and wished I had brought more ammo.

I think it's going to be a keeper.

Thank you Sam

The factory ammo was Hornady DGX's and the handloads were Hornady DGS with IMR4350. I have some CEB's ordered.
