I handled the Heym 450/400 yesterday at DSC. Well 2 of them actually. One with a right hand cheekpiece stock and another with no cheekpiece. The rifle weighs right at 10 lbs and balances and handles nice. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY | ||

The rib of the rifle does have positions for scope mounts. The barrels are a beautifully proper 26" long! I saw one of the Heyms with claw mounts. I'm sure EAW's pivot mount would work also. I shot a Heym 450/400 3". I had just finished shooting a few rounds with my Chapuis 9,3x74R. The 400 Heym was very comfortable to shoot. The recoil was very low, very smooth. The stock does not bang the face, or the trigger guard the finger. If I was going to buy a new made double over 9,3 today it would be the Heym 400 with a scope in claw mounts. Make that the choice of me as well! I fired it two shots, two baloons popped! The rifle absolutely fits me perfectly, and whoots right on the sights with perfectly regulation useing the Hornady factory ammo.
