Who keeps the Jeffrey rifles records these days? Someone sent me some photos of a beautiful Leonard actioned Jeffrey in .450-400, and would like more info on the gun. I’ll post pictures of the gun as soon as I get permission.

Around 2008, when I was putting together my book on the .600s, the records were held in Houston my Friedkin. He has passed and I have heard the records have been transferred. I photocopied several dozen pages for my records. If you PM me the serial number, I will check if my pages have that number. Actually, I believe Holland and Holland bought the name and rights in the 90s. My first Jeffrey 450-400 3" had been restored at H&H and was a stunner. The one you pictured may well have been restored by them as well?? I would check with London. CheerZ, 470EDDY

Holland & Holland did a records check for me on a Jeffery 450-400 I had several years ago and sent me the page from the build ledger for the rifle. I'm sure they still maintain Jeffery's records.

This probably won't help but I found the ledger page for my Jeffery which contains the build data on all the rifles from serial number 9081 to 9090. If your rifle is in that range I would gladly send you a copy.

Colin, Further on the pursuit of info on Jeffrey, it was Charles Williams in Texas who was keeping the records for the owner at the time, Tommy Friedkin. I probably still have his email address? Also, during that time, they were also building some Jeffrey's, mainly spectacular bolt rifles, and Reto Buehler in Medford, Oregon was doing the SPECTACULAR work!! Reto may still have info and contact info with Charles?? Paul Roberts of Rigby fame was also in this mix... he was displaying some of the Jeffrey rifles in his stand at SCI. CheerZ, 470EDDY
