These are the two calibers of Double Rifle I'll be taking to Zim this October! What a contrast between the two. 577NE and the 9.3X74R. All loaded with CEB BBW#13 Solids and Non-Cons. Iron sights for the big boy with a QD scope mounted on the little double. I'm really looking forward to going all DR this trip! Anyone else out there done it and if so, what did you think about your choice? Cheers

Jack Sprat could eat no fat and his wife could eat no lean. . . . . . . . Seriously, great looking ammo and I'm sure they'll definitely do the job! Hey, I have a friend, Robert Donaldson, that has been doing all double rifle safaris for years. He has quite the stable of double rifles!

Been doing it for several years. It's the only way to fly. Life is much too short to use bolt trash guns! BTW, nice choice of calibres and bullets! Deo Vindice, Don Sons of Confederate Veterans Black Horse Camp #780

Doc, but the triggers on a 600 NE are meant to be pulled ONE AT A TIME!!! :-)

Todd, If you look at an Ele next to an Impala, there's quite a contrast there, too! Use the appropriate cannon. :-)

Actually when you think about it, the 9.3X74R is really a "BIG" gun for the Impala with its standard 286gr bullet. It just looks small next to the larger cartridge. I know the 9.3X62 is fully legal in Zim for all DG. The 9.3X74R meets the caliber requirement but may miss the energy mark by a little bit for Elephant and Buffalo. Still it is very similar in ballistics to the 375 Flanged. When put in that perspective, it really emphasizes how much of a monster that 577NE is! Man, I love big bores and double rifles!

So you are telling me that a 577 won't kill an impalla?? I know a 9.3X74R will kill Ell. Nah, of course not. Remember! It's one of those cannons that all you got to do is point it in that direction, close your eyes, pull the trigger and just get close!
