Which one ? All similar to the one Mike posted above. Bullet weight changes between the 3.

A min of 3 different one's. William Evans, Purdey and one other.

Can't remember the bullet weights / loads.

In general, a hog / deer calibre.

william Evans, very similar to the one offered by cabelas in Texas. It is an ejector rifle with most of the original finish and casehardening. It has 26" barrels I think are chopper lump barrels. How hard to load for, ie, how hard are components for this rifle???

The most common one.

I have one, it's a great little cartridge.

Have you looked at Huntingtons, Buffalo Arms or elsewhere for supplies?

Would you use it much in the same way you would a 9.3x74? Where would you find brass and load data. I am assuming that one could use standard .366 bullets for it??

I looked at two doubles One was the Evans and another a Manton. I Thought the Evans was in 360#2 but no the Manton is and the Evans is 400-360. The price was fair for both, I think but the evans really rocked me pretty well. I know the 360#2 is every bit as effective as the 375 flanged magnum, I just don't know the performance profile of the 400-360. There is an evans in good condition re-bored and reproofed for 9.3x74 from 360 2.75. more money but not oroginal condition. What do you think?

NO - definitely not.

400/360 falls into the same category as 450/400's varying bore sizes. In fact, it is worse than the 450/400 in that all 3 had different bore sizes and then you have variations on each from here.

1. Slug bore, measure with a micrometer.
2. Slug IT AGAIN and Re measure.

You may have to swage bullets up or down from .366.

Depends on whether you want a shooter or a collector item that shoots.

BTW - The difference between the 360 No 2 and the 400/360 is huge, they are not comparable.

There seems to be a few Wm. Evans doubles in 400/360 around right now.
Cabelas has the rechambered one and another which is original. Mike Schwandt has one which is IMO, the best deal of the guns I have seen - very tempting...
As mentioned above, the three variations are the Westley Richards, Purdey and William Evans.
I know the WR has a thicker rim than the Purdey, but not sure if the Evans case is the exact same as either. My guess is that it is the same as the Purdey with a different bullet weight and charge.
Fraser also put out a 400/360 which used the Purdey brass with a lighter bullet of his "ratchet" design.
I would love to hear more about the Manton though too.

Huvius-

The Evans at Schwandt does indeed look like a peach.
Overall it looks like it could well be a sweet handling little rifle -- and ejectors too!
Lots of rifle for the price, which looks to be a steal.

Cheers
Tinker
