This is not my rifle. I stopped by Cabelas in Thornton, CO yesterday and they had a Searcy 470 NE for sale in their gun library for $8,000.

Was it a Browning conversion? If the serial number doesn't start with BL, it is.

I though so too. If I didn’t have some other things going I would have bought it.

I bought my Searcy 450-400 3 inch a number of years ago through a Cabela's fine gun shop and had it shipped to the closest store for pick up. I have loved hunting with that gun and caliber! And, Butch and I have become friends. I subsequently had him build me a 375 Flanged double rifle. Both are sweet guns! You couldn't go wrong with the 470 NE! tu2

Isn't it 24 inches? I believe that's standard on Butch's double rifles unless you order 26 inch barrels. Big Grin

I was there and handled it today.

Fits me like a glove.

This rifle is a plain Jane as it gets and they have the tear target on display. It’s a shooter.

This would be a great double rifle for someone looking to get into the DR game and do it on a budget.

I’m not tradi f in my Kreighoff but if I didn’t won’t my K Gun in 479 it would have walked out the door with me.
