Wesley Richards double
Can one of you experts give me a 101 class on the variations of WR double rifles? Going to look at a 1920ish made double and just not familiar with the ins and outs.
Thanks

1920s WR double--all in, nothing out.
The best of the best.
How about posting details here?

Plain boxlock or boxlock with detachable locks.

Lovely guns and rifles.

WR made several grades of double rifles over the years. The best quality rifles had C-bolt lock ups. You can identify one by the opening lever. if it is very wide at its base it is a C-bolt gun. others were made with the more customary narrower opening lever base. Both are very high quality guns though and I have owned both types.

Might also be a WR drop lock, wouldn't that be nice to have?

Here is a Westley Richards Drop Lock (notice there are no pins):

Although rare Westley also made sidelock double rifles. Many moons ago I had a sidelock maharaja gun that had been re-barreled to 300 H&H. Boy do I wish I still had that one.
