For those who may have missed it, friend of the DRSS Monty Kalogeras is hosting a Shooting Seminar with Kevin Robertson at his ranch in Mason, Texas. This is the same place that was visited by many DRSS members for a Saturday fun shoot during the last DRSS shoot & pig hunt. He has posted it in the African Big Game forum and Classifieds so you can click to PM/email him there. I'm pasting the flyer in this thread too.

Kevin Robertson will host two classes at the Safari Shooting School in January of 2008.

The event is limited to two classes with four guests per class.

Class 1: January 16-17, 2008

Class 2: January 19-20, 2008

Topics covered by Kevin: safari preparation, equipment, clothing, hunting, shot placement, proficiency with rifle on stationary and “charging†targets as well as your requested topics for Kevin to cover.

Cost is $1,495 and includes: lodging, meals, libations. You need only to bring your rifles and ammunition.

Safari Shooting School is located in Mason, TX (approximately 2-hours drive from Austin, TX.)

Since it's kinda pricey, I doubt too many would go there. If new DR shooters get interested, they'll probably be recovering from the cost of the new rifle and ammo. Shooters who are new to the game should go to any properly set-up place for instruction and for practice.

The ranch is a full time school. It is properly set up, with excellant instruction and ready for practice. This is a special event sponsored by Monty Kalogeras' Safari Shooting School. Price is relative. It's a hell of alot cheaper than the recent one up in Wyoming or thereabouts to get schooled by the Acheson's(?). I'd venture that Robertson is light years above those folks. But then I don't know if anyone attended that one either, it may have been a bust. I mean what was the draw in that one?
