It's not so much about what you hit them with, as it is where you hit them...

Charging, 8-yards, between the eyes!

If someone asked me what cartridge I would recommend for Buff it would be a 450/400 N.E.

This may be a little morbid, but I love being able to see the entry hole on game. There is something comforting about not having to look for it.

I killed 2 buffs in a group of 3 plus some other critters last year on my first hunt with my new Heym in 450-400. I love the way it carries and shoots. Can't say enough how much more gratifying hunting with a double gun with open sights is. Well done my man!!!!

Ive had 3 450-400s my all time favorite DG rifle. My Jefferys, My Army-Navy and a Searcy, all shot minute of grape, not grapefruit!!Shot quite a number of buffalo with them and either Woodlieh softs or solids or flat nose solids by GS Customs..Nice bull you have there.

Whoops, also a 20 inch barreled Rhodda that shot tiny groups.
