True it has had some mods; it started life as a 16 ga shotgun. It has new barrels and new stock. I bend lower tang to make a fuller grip; Baikals use a thin shotgun grip and they should have made it deeper for a rifle.

Thanks for the offer, you never know I might show up one of these days.

Good shooting/hunting and God's best.
Okay, thanks. I, did not realize it was a custom build. Thought it was a modified mp221. How does it shoot?
Shoots great; 1.5 inches at 50 yards with 48 grains of 3031 and a 405 grain bullet. I have a fixture that I made, to regulate them with.

On the 45-70
It's a bit hard to tell
But it looks like you used the Holland style front wedge for regulation?

I used a piece of steel that I made that fits between the barrels and is milled in the contour for them. To regulate, I shoot, and mill it narrower to make the bullets come together, and make a new one to make them spread apart. Not as hard as it sounds.
Ok, gotcha

Here's a pic of the Holland regulation I was talking about.
They look to use two halves milled to fit the barrel profiles with a wedge driven up between them to adjust regulation. I like it.
You just use one piece milled to fit the barrels and no wedge as you say. It's always interesting to see how people arrive at the same point using different methods. Thanks.

Yes, I have seen this method before; I should try it. This way, you can regulate it on the range. But so can I: I use shim stock and a hose clamp for initial trial regulation; that usually gets them very close; then I go back to the shop and make the spacer with the same barrel convergence.
Excellent, using shim stock is a good idea. I imagine it would save a lot of de-soldering and adjusting. Sounds like you've travelled this road once or twice.
Can I ask how many wedges you use over the length of the barrels and do you solder them all or do you weld any of them?
