A friend has a Remington .30-06 O/U made by Antonio Zoli that was marketed in Europe for a while. I would like to help set him up to shoot it better than it does. Anyone have any idea as to the load it was regulated for? Weight and speed? If so, it would give me a starting point. Right now it is all over the place at 50 meters and would like it to be close at 100. I have tried the Zoli contact in New York with no luck. WH, Don Life Member SCI &, NRA

Boy that's a tough one Don. I don't know what they regulated them with in Italy, but for a starting point I would suggest 55gr H4350 pushing a 180gr and see where they fall. That's my standard for several 30-06 barrels and they should not be all over the place, Waidmannsheil, Dom. -------- There are those who only reload so they can shoot, and then there are those who only shoot so they can reload. I belong to the first group. Dom ---------

If it was regulated it would stand to reason that it would have been regulated for one of Remington's factory loads. I suggest trying their standard 180gr and 165gr Core-Lokt ammo. .

Don- Hold of the rifle and bench technique can have a lot to do with a double rifle's performance on targets. Has he tried running it off hand and standing instead of off a bench and rest? He needs a good grip on the forend (and the barrels possibly) with no part of the rifle touching a rest while shooting. If a rest is needed, the back if the support hand can contact a sandbag or rest. What kind of scope (if any) is he using? Big scopes (or even conventional looking scopes) can greatly affect the double rifle's performance too. Where has he been going to shoot? Dom, Thanks. It is for Rominger from the HD R&G Club, now in Indiana. I figured it was closer to 180 grain bullets than the 150 he was using. Tinker, From the bench, but without the hand under the fore end, and open sights. I'll pass this info on. Appriciate the help. WH, Don Life Member SCI &, NRA

Don- Feel free to contact me via PM I own and shoot a few double rifles, have owned a few others. If your friend wants hands-on help with the rifle, I can likely assist and I have a private range where he can shoot it. I'll look in here again in the next couple days to see where y'all are at with the rifle. Resting on bags with no hold on the rifle is sure to give bad data on target. Grenadier, Since the rifle was made for the European market it would more likely be regulated with European ammo! As far as I know that rifle was never offered for sale in the USA. Any rifle with more than one barrel rarely escapes my attention, and I never heard of that rifle till this thread! I doubt that rifle was regulated with any other ammo than ZOLI’s other O/U double rifles chambered for 30-06. IMO the only difference between it and other ZOLI double was the name stamped on them, and maybe some decoration. I would try RWS ammo! ……………………………………………………………………………………………….. ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith
