Not to be confused with MY Chapuis that shoots like a Baboon with the squirts, we finally got around to shooting my Safari partner Mike's Chapuis that we bought in the same group buy.

He's been waiting for a new Swarovski to come in, but today we just QD unmounted the Leupold from mine and cranked it onto his.

First a side bar about QC, machining precision, and repeatability: this scope, which was more-or-less zeroed on my rifle was about 12" low AT 50 YARDS when all we did was put it on his.

But we finally got some idea of how one of these rifles should shoot:

The best part is that this was with S&B factory ammo (donated to the Chapuis project by Jimatcat), so it's one less gun I have to reload for!

I had also said earlier that although mine was nice, his had some drop-dead gorgeous wood:

Very nice! I am glad all is well with this one, and that you have a plan on the faulty one.

Cheers,
Canuck

Ya all are making me sleep a little easier seeing mine is being built for late summer delivery. Combined with the fact that Dale offered to build you a new rifle makes me even feel better.
Still, sorry you experienced problems with yours.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
