The weather was beautiful here today! So, 400 NitroExpress and I took Lucille to the range.

First of all Damn, I'm glad I got a scope! Old age and eyes. . .well that's another story!

She shoots better than I can! The flyer was my doing!
Factory Norma very consistant around 2350 as advertised!

I tried Roscoe's 64 grains of 4831 and I fell short by 100 FPS around 2233. Need to work on that load. My 4350 loads were also too slow.

So it's back to the loading bench for me.

Used some of the new Hornady 9.3X74R cases today! Very nice!

I am going to have to get taller rings. The ones I have now do not allow for quick lever movement, but I new that going in.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the little Chapuis! It's trim weight doesn't make it a joy to shoot off the bench. (Forgot the Past Pad!) We are still just getting to know each other!

Rusty, I'm also jealous, mine is on the way from France, in fact, it left today. I did send my scope over and am having it regulated with my Leupold 1.5x6 VXIII scope at 100 meters.

Rusty, I assume the range was 50yds? Was your rifle regulated at the factory with the scope?

The range was 50 yds. The scope was mounted and zeroed by Evolution Rifles. They are the folks I bought the rifle through.

You are right Jim! A great first date!

Good deal! I was off in the Hill Country hunting wild turkey, so had to miss (the range day, not the turkeys). Looks like you've got a winner. Looking forward to seeing and shooting it. Bob

Bob,
I dropped it off at Tip's place Saturday to have John Valicek install a low profile sling swivel on the butt stock.

Rusty,

It seems you lucked out with a beautiful model that's built like a brick outhouse and can cook homemade biscuits, gravy & porkchops. :^)

rusty if the 65 gr 4831 doesn't do well try 54 gr of RL 15. That was always my secondary load. otherwise I've used up to 63 gr of 4350 before, but I always thought that was a bit hot.
