What are the right rings & mounts for these guns? Does the work have to be done by an expert gunsmith or can I fit these rings like I do for bolt guns which have drilled & tapped for bases? https://www.google.co.nz/imgre...EnB2g4yAEQMwgLKAgwCA https://www.google.co.nz/imgre...SFlE4P5sRM%3A&w=4896 https://www.google.co.nz/imgre...QKHbWhDisQMwhCKB8wHw Some of these are Kreighorfs. Some are the Schul system. I have also seen similar ones in old classic English / Scottish guns. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

Recknagel is the name that springs to my mind: http://www.recknagel.de/Joomla/en/scope-mounts.html You are almost certain to need a skilled gunsmith as the added mass of the scope could throw out the regulation of a double rifle. I was considering getting Heym to put a Swaro 1-6 on my .450/.400 before it left the factory seven years ago. They were quite happy to do it but the mounting would have cost $2400 plus the scope.

I agree - these are Recknagel mounts. Ken Buch (Kebco) and his son Carl(Blackbern) sell these for the Verney Carron and Chapuis double rifles they carry.
