I know Blasers are not well-liked among most DR guys, but for $4,600?

Well the good thing is that it is left handed.

But it is trying to be all things to all men. Its stocked very straight, with sharply angled pistol grip just like a long range bolt action rifle, and probably handles like one. Its also a 243 which is a very excellent long range vermin and small deer calibre.

It weights 13 lbs.

If you want a lightweight double rifle or break action single shot in small calibre there are probably much better options. Look at the old H&H 244 Rimmed etc.

If you want a fast shooting double for plains game and deer - go with a 7x57R, 7x65R or 8x57R

And side by side doubles should not have a contrasting schnabel forend - just looks wrong and just hurts if you have any recoil - this one will not at 13 lbs in weight.

You paying double rifle money, but not really getting a double rifle - yes it has two barrels but....

I would much rather have a little double in 6x70r built on 410 scale double action with all up weight 6lb's - that would be very nice.

That 13lbs has to be a mistake? Who in their right mind would ever want a 13lb 6mm double?

Mr. Biebs:

Since you are without a Blazez, have you seen the Blazer double rifle bolt action design? I know I have seen pics of such a hybrid. Maybe it was a spoof.

I'm not Beib's (thank God for that! Big Grin ) but I've never heard of a Blaser Double Bolt. I have however heard of the Fuchs double.

No, actually Blaser has made one similar to the Fuchs design. As I understand it, Blaser does a lot of business with the Arab royalty; very high-end, ornately decorated rifles. When they saw the double bolt, they asked Blaser for them, and Blaser designed and built them. I'm not sure how many were made. There are a couple photos in this link:

I don't know why anyone would want a 13# double rifle chambered for 243 Win! Heck my 470NE double only weighs 11#.

On another side of this is I would love to have a 8# double rifle chambered for a "RIMMED" version of the 243 Win. I have been thinking about building one chambered for a necked down 307 Win case to make a rimmed 243/307 rimmed cartridge regulated for a full loaded cartridge with loads from the book for the 243Win factory rounds with a 100 gr bullet for velocity of around 2800 FPS. Mounted with a quick detach scope and a rack of flip-up iron sights for longer range.
I guess we can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets full first!

Just right! I'd pay $100 for it and (at my age) $4500 on Viagra.

I do not know if thank you is the right phrase for proving such a scientific blasphemy exist. But thank you. It had been a long time since I saw pics of that action. The one I saw was chambered in 338 win mag and was being billed as the ultimate lion tamer.

In all sincerity, thank you for pics.

Just to be clear, the $4,600 is what's being offered TO the potential new owner to take this abortion of a "double rifle" off the current owner's hands ... right?

Holts had a Fuchs double bolt at the Scottish game fair. I had a good look and handled it. It handles like a fine double. It is, I recall rear locking with massive lugs, with the two just sliding back and forth.

It would just the tool for close quarter culling buffalo or elephant. Bang bang, a quick reload and bang bang again. Detacheable mag that takes three each side, so you four doubles, before needing the reload.
