I've upgraded the Classic to include intercepting sears. All the accidents I've read about on AR this last year made me decide to add this feature to all the boxlock actions except the field grade which I have decided to discontinue.
Features of the Classic:
Exhibition Turkish walnut
English scroll engraving
Intercepting sears
Hinged front trigger
Price: 20K
Picture below is what you can expect.

Butch,

With these additions, how does the Classic differ from the discontinued Deluxe Grade?

Walt,
It differs only in appearance. If a customer prefers the action with bolsters and a coin finish thats fine.

Todd,
I'm already making the screw grip. I have orders for two boxlocks and one sidelock.
The boxlocks start at 30K and the sidelock at 60K

Butch: Is it possible to upgrade an existing Classic with the intercepting sears ? If so, what would it cost ?

Yes I can Frank,
The cost would be 4K, That may seem like allot but I have to anneal the action, I will have to rebed the stock and possibly need to refit the barrels to the action. Then recase the action.
This is a ton or work, but the benefit is worth it.
By the way Frank your 577 already has the intercepters

I too would like to know more about the "accidents on AR".

Peter,
Do a search on the forum and you'll find out what I'm refering to. Your curiosity is a waste of my time. Do a search here and you'll satisfy it.

Butch, I've already got one of your Classics, and fwiw I think the intercepting sears are a real fine idea.

At this point I'm not thinking retrofit. But if you or someone else here knows the answer, does whatever tendency for doubling affect mainly the above 450/400 calibers in double rifles?

Though I may be wasting my time (sigh), I will clue you in that more than one PH was shot this season. Without referencing any of the incidents specifically, the degree to which these accidents were a result of operator error or mechanical failure is not clear.

OK Peter,
Do the search on the African hunting topics. The addition of the interceptors is only to make me warm and fuzzy as well as my customers.
