450 3 1/4
I just received a 100 lot of brass from down under and am wanting to start trimming cases for reloading. Somehow I misplaced the loading data for my Heym 88B Safari rifle. If someone would be gracious enough to supply me what the case length, overall cartridge length, and any favorite/pet loads for their 450 3 1/4 double I will be eternally grateful. Thanks, Mike

According to the A-square manual...for the 450 N.E. 3 1/4"...trim to length 3.240", OAL 3.950".

I do not have a 450 3 1/4" but I do have a 470NE it likes H4831sc...A-square list loads for the 450 3 1/4" for H4831 95grains to 101grains with A-square cases, CCI-250 primers...they also list IMR 4350 and RL19 as powders...if you want more info. from the A-square manual let me know...or get one

Four Tails:
480gr. Woodleigh Soft points and 95grs. of IMR 4831
480 gr. Woodleigh FMJs and 86 grs. of RL15 work best in my gun.
Mine is a modern gun, so, use the usual precautions.

400 Nitro Express
Schorsch:

The Trophy Bonded Bear Claw has a full caliber homogenous shank and is, therefore, a mono-metal bullet, which is not a good idea in a DR. I suggest Woodleigh softs and solids.

I too like Trophy Binded Bearclaws. They are one of my favorite bullets in the 308. The last 2 elk I killed with my 300 Win Mzag were with 200 gr TB. I like the Federal facto0ry 375 load with the 250 gr TB for black bear. I have not shot one with it yet but I have used it on two hunts.
I shot 2 buff in 2004 [450 No2] and recovered a 480 Woodleigh Soft, and 2 Swift 500 gr A Frames.
Both performed perfectly.
i also recovered some solids shot into the buff and the 3 elephant I killed. They too performed perefectly.
In the Nitro Expresses the Woodleigh Softs and Solids are perfect.
