At the Dallas show I looked at a Merkel 450/400. The top rib looks like it has a an insert for the rear base for a scope mount. There is no front insert?? Are they set up for a swing off scope mounting system?

All the new Merkel DG doubles come with the rib mostly prepared to install the Recknagel swing out mounts. This reduces the cost for installing the mounts and also helps ensure that adding the mounts does not affect the regulation of the iron sights. Hope this helps. Mike
