Maybe this works. And if it does, Thanks Dave for bringing a Marine up to the world of computers!

It is my understanding that the engraving was done by Ron Collins and his initials are on the bottom by the triggers. I can't swear to that though, just what I have told.
It is a "new to me" gun. I purchased it used. I should say I stole it though. And thanks to Subsailor74, I finally got the proper steps pounded into my Marine brain (I have seen the MRI, I do have one, albeit small) to post pictures.

And thanks for the offer Rusty. I would have resorted to that but really needed to learn how to post. Even Us old guys can learn something.

I'm cleaning it as I type. So far, Subsailor74 called me and asked me to leave it to him in my will and have had 2 emails asking if it was for sale(which it isn't). I am going to have a 1" spacer put in and a leather cover for the recoil pad to hide it all but I will take pictures of the group it shot on my first attempt. 2 shots are pretty ugly trying to get the feel of the triggers but the next 2 are almost touching at 50 yards off the sticks. Probably luck as bad as I shoot but it is definitely minute of buffalo. Thanks

Sure looks like a Classic Searcy with lots of characteristic beauty that goes beyond Classic.
I had not seen one of the Searcy's with polished wood like that. Most that I have seen have a low luster oil rubbed finish.

I have not handled that many of Butch's rifles but this is the way it came to me. I believe that this is the rifle that is on Butch's website under the categories of Sidelocks and then engraving. All of the knots and shadows on his site and on the rifle are identical. I'm going to have to have the stock lengthened because it is too short for me and Butch told me that when he made the rifle, he made it for someone that was 6 or 7 inches shorter than me. I think it is gorgeous.
Thanks
