Actually, seeing as how a new plain old WR droplock is in the $80,000 range, not a bad price if it is in top condition. It sure looks like it is in great shape.

Of course, as with all Brit doubles, it does not come with a dental plan....

50's or 60's gun.

Interesting that it doesn't have a model name
on it. Quite a few did.

A very nice rifle. I can see paying the price for that rifle but still think that 37k for the clunker is out of line!

Nice gun. I am guessing 1910 to 1912. It looks as though it may have been re-blacked and or re-color cased. A great looking rifle.

rolexfan, I'd guess closer to between the wars, because the rifle's action is a basic A&D action, but is fitted with side clips, and is a more square action type than the older rifles. Most of the Westley Richards double rifles that were made from inception to the first 15 yrs of the 20th century, are the rounder type actions. Also the early ones rarly had full quarter ribs, but had Island rear sights, and the extended third fastener, was a seperate piece, and not connected to the rear sight platform! WR, is the only name that made their third fastener that way. My guess would be closer to 1937, or so, if pre war, and in the 70s if new, as the case and rifle's condition would indicate!

It would be interesting to find out for sure!

I checked and was told 1912. I suppose there are always exceptions but what you said is right on. In any event I would love to have that rifle.
