I is simply a group of people who like to get together and shoot Double Rifles. No official membership necessary. If you would like to come to any event you are more than welcome...even if you have yet to purchase your first double.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! OK I saw where you were going to meet at the DSC to shoot but at other times how do you know when, where etc. I have seen where you have the opportunity to shoot them all. Sounds fun to me.

First, welcome to AR. I see that you are a new poster.

The DRSS was "created" by a couple of guys here on AR - specifically, Rusty, MacD37, 400 Nitro Express and PWN375.

The DRSS is nothing more than a group of people who enjoy double rifles. To be a member, the only thing you have to do is say, "I want to be a member!." You do not have to own a DR to be a member. Just having an interest in DRs makes you a member.

AccurateReloading is our unofficial "club house." We come from all walks of life and from every corner of the world. Everyone is invited.

The DRSS tries to to host a "pay your own way" hunt/shoot each year. That is, the membership puts together a hunt for whomever wants to come and we each pay our own way to get there and hunt.

Immediately following the DSC convention, the DRSS is having a hunt/shoot near Rochelle, Texas at the 4K Ranch. It is a chance for people who have DRs, or people who are interested in DRs, to come together to hunt and shoot together.

For anyone in the market for a DR, we STRONGLY encourage that person to make the trip to a DRSS hunt because this is probably the only place in the USA for a person to see, handle and SHOOT various types of DRs, from every possible manufacture.

The only thing we ask participants who own DRs to do is bring enough ammo so that others can shoot their DRs. That is what makes the group so great.

Also, and most importantly, the DRSS guys are some of the best people I have ever met. I really look forward to each and every hunt and have made some great friends!

I appreciate the information and will be looking forward to meeting you all at a future DRSS shoot. I have a 450 NE on order and will be getting it in August of next year. I hope to hunt buffalo and elephant with it in Tanzania in 2009. If there is a meeting later on in the spring I will try to make it to shoot some of the larger doubles. Thanks

Welcome driftwood,
I myself have just declared my self a member. Perhaps saying that I have come out of the closet would have strange connotations. The “Double Rifle Shooter's Society†has some very knowledgeable members and you will find it is a exhalent source of information. I find new and interesting threads all the time. cheers

Welcome to AR and to the DRSS.
What part of the country are you in?
Sometimes DRSS members have "local" shoots.

Welcome Driftwood and enjoy the free info and stories from this group. I have learned more in the last 2 years about doubles than I did in the previous 30 some-odd years. These guys have always answered my questions without too much ridicule. You may occasionally need thick skin around here but the ribbing is all in good fun.

Will the DRSS have a both at DSC? How do you find them at DSC?

Will DRSS be at other Safai Club conventions?

We are too disorganized to have a booth. Wink We will be all over the DSC. Just look for some rather seedy individuals wearing shirts with the Accurate Reloading logo over the left pocket.

Welcome and even more than that, you are further welcome to stop by our little place to visit and shoot if you ever come through the Salmon area in Idaho. I can give you an idea what a couple of different .500NE's feel like.

Driftwood,

Don't believe these guys.

I am not only a DRSS member I am the owner and president of the DRSS. (DRSS) actually stands for (DOUBLE RIFLES fer SURE STRIKE).

There is a small enrollment fee that can be paid in the form of cash or M.O. For only $10,500 USD you can get a basic membership which includes pictures and video of me shooting and hunting with the new double rifle I'll purchase with your enrollment money.

For only $35,000 and mere $400.00 a week you can get a "royal" membership which includes pictures, video and a written description of the annual 21 day full bag safari I'll be spending your fee's on each and every year. Not only that but I promise that I'll buy a new British side lock and add at least one drop lock and one medium bore Purdy to my collection just as soon as your annual nonrefundable fee's add up enough to allow me to do so.

It is really so little to give when you think of the pleasure it'll bring to heart of my inner child. Smiler

Please make all checks payable to the Double Rifles fer Sure Strike foundation.
