If you were at the show in Dallas,and you visited with Chris at the Heym booth,you might have seen my 450/400,it's a case colored beauty mounted with a docter sight,she was shipped yesterday,I should have it before the week end,would any of you gentlemen shooting a Heym 450/400,care to share your load data ? thanks.

My son has a one year old Heym in 450/400.
After several trials, the load the gun likes is
Hornady Brass
82.5 gr H4831SC powder
Fed 215 primers
Swift .411 A-Frames
PS You have to call Swift and special order these bullets as they are not in the cataloge.
They make them by swaging .416 bullets. Do NOT
seat to the channelur as that will leave the bullet too long and it will stick in the lands or the rifle may not close correctly. Seat deeper than the channelur.

79-81 grs of H4831SC seems to be the sweet spot with Hornady or Woodleighs (400 gr). Federal Magnum primers

You might also check with Chris Sells on Heym,
it seems the new Heym doubles may be regulated with North Fork 400 gr. flat point solids. These are non bore riders only the bands touch the lands, the pressures are lower and you can get more speed (i.e. impact velocity and energy)
with little change in regulation. In my K-gun
450/400 I get 2200+ fps with 81gr. H4831SC and the gun groups better at 50 meters. These are too expensive for practice but best for the "big
nastys". Use Hornady or Woodleigh for practice.
