Beautiful wood! I cannot comment on thwe price except to say that there is a Blaser for sale in the same caliber in the Classifieds for $6000.

HARMS, it is hard to tell anything by the pictures posted a GunsAmerica. If the description is correct, it is a fair price. The price is only $125 more than the Blazer, and there are several reasons I'd rather have the Searcy, than any double rifle made by Blaser. The chambering is a good one, but componant brass is sometimes hard to come by, but if you buy 100 pieces when you find some it will last a long time, so is no problem.

The one thing that worries me is I simply do not know this seller, and Guns America is not my favorite place to buy firearms.
If everything is on the up, and up, the price is right!

The seller is from Spearfish, SD which is close to Sturgis where the rifles are now made. I am not sure if this means anything or it is just a coincidence.

If you are close enough I would go look for myself!

harms,
I would not take any chances, with internet fraud the way that it is,offer to pay shipping,& have it sent to Searcy for inspection, before you make a decision, you can also call Butch Searcy himself if the seller will give you the serial number & get more info on the gun.

Harms,

Bill73 has a good idea.

Notice it says LOP is 13-3/8" which is very, very short for a double and that's over a pad. You need to confirm that figure unless you use a shotgun that short. Doubles usually fit the way a sxs shotgun does and most people are in the 14-1/4 to 14-7/8 range to be able to shoot them well under pressure. You may need to pay to lengthen that LOP.

Regards, Tim

Short LOP, and at 10 pounds a pound or more
heavier than needed for the recoil that this rifle
will create.

The fact that this rifle is close to Sturgis is just a coincidence. I can also tell you that the seller (G5Young) is a reputable, stand up guy. thumb I know him personally. If you are interested in the rifle just contact him. You might even be able to persuade him to run the rifle over to Sturgis to have it inspected. Wink I have not personally handled this rifle but if it is the rifle I think it is then it was built for a young lady. I dont think it has seen much use.

I believe that is one of Butch's older rifles, built on a BSS action. I have one in 470, paid about that much four years ago. Good working rifle. Awful short LOP, though.
