Hey Chris, with your frame by frame time measure, can you compare four of your shots to the four from Monty on the video of the 404Jeff bolt?

What do you think?

One has to be nice, and sensitive, to double rifle shooters, also sometimes referred to as 4-shot challanged, because, as seen in the video, Monty is blazing off 4 rounds with his bolt rifle a lot faster than his double. Smiler

Tim - Monty is obviously much faster in the bolt gun video, but he's put a lot more practice into mastering one. I've not seen anyone else come close to him. That's a 404 he's shooting in the video.

Monty was trying a diff loading technique, don't know if this was pointed out. He is not slow with a double either and now that he owns one he's getting faster.

Well, at least with some of them. For example, it is no longer PC to use the term "retard" for people who cannot master two triggers. Instead, we must use the more acceptable and sensitive term "trigger impaired".

Chris, I wasn't being sarcastic at all; I judged Monty on the bolt to be faster, but wasn't sure how much faster - you were pretty darn fast.

Trigger impaired?

The issue at hand here is not whether I am trigger impaired or a moron or just a plain old retard, but that you are the designated AR wit, and as such, it is imperative that you keep up to your previous work standards and image in the forums.

Trigger impaired? Just not up to snuff with your regular work. At least if I am referred to as a retard, I would like to laugh at the same time.

Would you please give it another shot? Smiler

Reloading a double sure comes at hand - sometimes - however lets not forget about keeping up the appearances - reloading a double in a hurry sure takes away the majority of "cool factor" , gun bearer with a second rifle at hand would look much "cooler" Wink.

It is only faster to use a second gun carried by a gun bearer if you can run fast enough to catch up with him!

I have taken a different approach. I load only as fast as I can be sure of getting it done and that is not real fast..I do not get in a hurry, I calmly just reload the rifle..

I opt for good shooting over fast reloading..If I have shot both barrels and the animal is still coming at me then I prefer to hold my 2 shots until I know I can put the bullet right where it needs to be and that is in the brain. so far so good...

if real "FIREPOWER" is needed or desired why not just trade in your old break open double for the new
BOLT ACTION DOUBLE RIFLE.

6 shots as fast as you can work the bolt

and you can even keep that rifle ON YOUR SHOULDER and AIMED AT THE GAME during reloads. something you can't do with a double very well.

whats's the answer ? what yo daddy always told you. MAKE THE FIRST SHOT COUNT.

for you guys who have bolt & run gunbearers there is an easy way to eliminate that problem.

have the ph tell him in his native language if he breaks and runs when the action starts the first barrel goes to the game , and the second goes to him. he can understand that.

i never had any of my gunbearers run off. they were instructed to drop into a squat at the moment i took the rifle off their sholder.
