pagosawingnutMy new Searcy .500
Well, the Field Grade that Butch made for me 2 years ago went to a new home about a month ago. And having all the reloading stuff for the .500, I had to get Butch to make me another one with a longer LOP. Damn does he do nice work. LOOK AT THE WOOD HE PUT ON A FIELD GRADE for me.
Enjoy

I hope you're not talking of fine Boswell doubles from the vintage years of the UK?
If not, whatever could you be writing about?

Rick, there is a reason 90% of Marine Aviators fly choppers with their 100kts brain while Naval Aviators fly Hornets off of boats with their 700kts brain! It mostly has to do with not using black highlighters on the important parts of the text books!

Cal, I think you've been in the cold too long!

pagosawingnutIf I was smart enough to go into the Archives, (which I'm not), I could dig up a picture of Todd shooting a Blaser R8 that he "claims" belonged to someone else..........

BiebsRick, did Butch charge extra for your knuckle-dragging 17 1/2" LOP? :-)

BiebsIn Germany, it's spelled "YOU SUK"

Use Enough GunNice Rick!

I'm waiting on Butch for my 375 Flanged.
05 December 2015, 02:07
pagosawingnutYes, sir, he mentioned that. He's slaving away at it. It will show up.

INTJI LOVE the look of a clean, unengraved coin silver receiver. That added to nice wood is the ultimate.
05 December 2015, 05:20
Brandon.GleasonVery difficult not to like one of Butch's rifles. Congratulations.

FrostbitI saw the title of the thread and thought it might be about the greatest double ever built. Dang!!
10 December 2015, 05:16
pagosawingnutNo sir! Just a really pretty field grade, no engraving, nice wood.
But there again, I like Butch's work so I'm proud of it.
Now the .470 that he's making me is going to be a Box lock Rising Bite with side plates and rose and scroll engraving. That is going to be something else.
10 December 2015, 07:47
ExpressYourselfGreat looking double Rick! I think a field grade double always looks great IMO. Nothing wrong with adding embellishments if you want them on a particular rifle but they don’t shoot any better with engraving. I know it was mentioned a few times but the wood really looks great!
I like the Glenfiddich 18 small batch reserve as well.
Best always,
Shawn
