Good luck on your spots over in Namibia, Cato, shoot straight. Hope your friend recovers soon from his surgery!

Let me know when you get back and maybe we can do some shooting!

If it's as nice as a Brovnik that I've seen here... You've got a nice rifle! Ferlach's master make some of the best rifles around!

Their webite will make you drool! Click "Die Miester" for the link to their site.

I saw that rifle as well...nice buy! The Ferlach stuff is very nice. Sometimes they get a bit carried away with gun-glitz, but that one is a pure hunter.

Cato, the rifle was probably regulated with the 458 ammo they had at the time. If you're using modern (last couple years) ammunition with the newer powders, the velocity will be higher than the older stuff. I have some older Winchester 500 and 510gr rounds if you'd like to try that.

Congrats Cato!

When you get back and have time, I would strongly suggest that you consider sending the gun to JJ and convert it to the great 450 3 1/4".

Hey DoubleDon, that's exactly what I told him when he contacted me about this rifle before he bought it. I told him if it were mine I would send it straight to JJ for a re-chambering and extractor mod, even if it needed re-regulating! He got it so cheaply that the mods wouldn't even bring it up to it's retail worth.

I think for now he is going to leave it 458 Win Mag, but it would worry me if I wanted to use it for Buffalo, or brownies! The rifle is a very nice rifle, and far above the average today.
