Did a search and came up empty handed except for the recommendations from Butch for a load with 450-500 grain bullets. But didnt find out any recommendations for molds. Has anyone shot cast bullets out of there 450's yet? If you did, what mold and alloy did you use? My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Still waiting for my .450 NE, but I've used the following weights of hard cast gas checked bullets in .45/70 in my double rifle and my 1895CB Marlin: Beartooth 405 425 525 They have a 450, but I haven't used it. CPC 420 460 Jae-Bok Young has nice 420 and 550 gr cast bullets too. Beartooth http://www.beartoothbullets.com Jae-Bok Young http://www.competitor-pistol.com/jb%20home.html CPC - Got them from Midway Also consider the 405 gr Remington JFN bullet. They are cheaper than the store bought cast ones. So, unless you do your own casting, they might work for you. For the .450 NE, I got some Hawk 480 grain soft-nose with the thin 0.025" jacket for light game. Pure copper jacket that is anealled and soft, pure lead core. Core is not welded to jacket, but it doesn't matter for this application. Use a double rifle. It just feels better. Double Rifle Shooters Society

Snow ,most likely not much help, but out of the No-1 I run a 550 grain that is a WFN style, made up following the old Lyman #2 lead mix, using 5744 powder and staying with the Black Powder Express type loadings, with poly fluff and an over powder wad Stay Alert,Stay Alive Niet geschoten is altijd mis Hate of America is the defeat position of failed individuals and the failing state

I emailed Searcy to see what they recommend. Will post there response. Might just give the Lee GC mold a try if I have to start from scratch. Using Lyman #2 with a GC bullet doubt leading will be an issue. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Although I do not have a 450 yet,I have shot a lot of cast bullets out of my 470,I used bullets from Cast performance and our very own Mstarling who posts here on AR,all the different bullets were gas checked, shot really well, were cheap enough to go plinking with and did real well on hogs, leading was never an issue, although a thorough cleaning is a must when switching from cast to copper or vice versa.I shot bullet weights from 400-500 grs and they all shot well at full house loads DRSS

I referred to Cast Performance as CPC. http://www.castperformance.com/StoreFront.bok I think the 460s were about $57/100 at Midway. Use a double rifle. It just feels better. Double Rifle Shooters Society

LBT and NEI make 500 grain round nose bullet moulds for a .450 nitro. I have also used RCBS 500 grainers for the .45-70. They have a flat point and don't look traditional but work fine as to accuracy.
