Not shooting them but I have some to give away. They are 30.33mm long and 12 mm diameter. 1.2 inches long by .466 inches dia. They have three grooves filled with some type of grease. I got them from Butch when I had a 470. I have 49 of them. Anyone who will reimburse the shipping can have them. ALLEN W. .466 doesn't sound right for a .470, is it a typo and they are .476 dia.? If so I could use them and pay you the postage, just keep me from turning the lead pot or or casting on some hot day when I don't want to do so.

Retriever, I cast gas checked 9,3 and .476" bullets which I use in 9,3x74R and .470 NE. Also make .377" and .459" projectiles for the .375 H&H and the .458 AR respectively. I use Lar45's Carnauba Red Lube. They work pretty well and are a bunch cheaper to shoot than Woodleighs. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... I highly recommend cast bullets for big bore doubles, if you can find ones that regulate in your rifle. My Heym 470 NE really likes LBT 425 gr LFN/GC bullets from Cast Performance Bullets. With an appropriate charge of AA 5744 (around 42 gr), they shoot at about 1600 fps, regulate perfectly and are very pleaseant to shoot. With the 150 yard sight leaf up, these reduced loads impact at the top of the bead a 50 yards and in the middle of the bead at 100 yards. It's really cool to cover an 8-inch steel plate at 100 yards with the bead and hit it every time! In my Heym these bullets can also be pushed to normal velocities (i.e. above 2000 fps) with H4350, I 4350 or other suitable powder and still regulate well which gives a good practice load that is almost full power and very inexpensive. I've also shot Mt Baldy Bullets 510gr FNGC bullets with good success in full-power loads, but they don't regulate as well in reduced loads as the LBT 425's do. they tend to shoot apart quite a bit until the velocity passes 2000 fps. Again, as full power loads they are cheap and good practice. Most of the rounds through my 470 have been cast loads.

AfricanHunter The cast lead bullets I have measure 476 to 477. I must have mistyped the dimension earlier. If you want them pm me your address and I will ship them to you. ALLEN W. I shoot 400gr cast bullets, [I cast them out of linotype they are a Flat Nose style for the 45/70, lyman mold] in my 450 No2. I load 50gr of IMR 4198 with 15 grains of poly. Velocity is @ 1822fps. They regulate well and hit with the sights at 50 yards. I also shoot some cast bullets in my 450/400 3 1/4" double. It is @300gr lead bullet that I got from Mike Brady I load it with 44gr of IMR 4198 and 12 grains of poly. Velocity is estimated to be around 1700fps. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

330grn Hard, gas checked bullets ahead of 45grns AA5744 regulates and shoots well from my 500/416. Flatens bushpigs with style- would work for game up to kudu- just haven't got there yet. 360grn bullet ahead of 35grns AA5744 shoots ok for speed practice but doesn't regulate well - but the softer bullets and less powder makes a more economical load!
