Found a price of $9,500 for a Merkel Safari (African scene engraving) in 500NE. I thought that was pretty good but was the price if only paying by check (add 3% if buying by CC - which I prefer)and then of course shipping charge to my dealer plus his cut (5% of price) and tax.
Fair deal or are there better out there?
Thanks

There was one for sale here at a better price a little while ago. Do search.

If your dealer charges 5% of the price to handle the transfer, find another dealer. That is a rip off! Most guys around hear charge a flat fee. IMHO even $30 is high.

I must agree with Peter.
If the gun cost five dollars, or five million dollars, the "cost" for the dealer to do the transfer is the same.

I charge a flat fee of $25.00 here in Texas. I hear that some dealers get $50.00 or more in Califonia. IMHO they are screwing you if they are trying for a % of the sale price.
