I bid on that gun the last time it went though,
except 2 people decided to go ballistic with
the bidding.

It was fascinating listening to it on the end of the phone.

If I had the resources I would have to have it. I would plan a hunt for buffalo in east Africa and bring it home for a visit and a couple of baffalo.

Before I made my first trip to Africa I read John Hunter and of course saw Out of Africa.
In all my readings of Africa These two men by far intriged me the most and later I learned that they were close friends and had the highest regard for each other as hunters. I think it was john Hunter that said he would not trust any other man in a buff charge than Denys.

In Out of Africa Denys carried a sidelock double rifle. I'm glad to see here that it was an accurate depiction.

It would be quite a tribute to find Denys' grave marker with said rifle in hand. Could only be good Juju for the safari.

Go wandering round the Ngongs with this in your hand and, unfortunately, there's going to be trouble.

Have spent many hours all over and around the hills where he is buried and it is still a special place at certain times. However, the dishing out of land for political purposes is changing it for ever. Very sad.
