I was over at a friend's shop, and he has an old 10ga hammer gun with a side opening lever. The barrels have been shortened in the past, but just about right for a DR. The barrels appear to be fluid steel, but I'm not an expert, and I don't know if it makes much difference if it was going to be rebarreled or sleeved into a rifle. The action has just an iota of side-to-side play, maybe 1/64th, but that could be tightened up during the conversion. If you wanted to make a fun, low pressure DR in 45-70 or thereabouts, he'd do $350 shipped for the gun.

Why Biebs, the recoil pad alone is worth the asking price.

Jon - I thought you had figured out a way to fasten two R8 Blasers together and make a "double rifle"???? Looks like a great old piece no matter what you would choose to do with it. Larry Sellers SCI(International)Life Member Sabatti 'trash' Double Shooter R8Blaser DRSS
