In anticipation of my Searcy Classic in 375 Flanged Magnum and 450-400,3", I ordered and received my RCBS loading dies. I am still waiting for my Horneber brass and GS custom bullets. I am hoping that my rifle will be comming soon. I am really looking forward to shooting it. Will Hornady be making the 450-400, 3" brass soon and are there any plans for other calibers such as the 375 Flanged magnum? square shooter

Yes, Hornady is going to make .450/.400 3" brass. They made 1500 rounds of it for their own development programme. However, I don't imagine that they'll offer brass to the public until they release their factory ammo. They're working on that, but it may be a while. The last time I spoke to the tech guy on the project, they were wrestling with pressure issues. I assume that the Horneber you're waiting on is .375 Flanged Magnum? Horneber does make it, and it's good brass. I would suggest that you buy your .375 Flanged Magnum brass just once. Get 500 rounds and you won't have to worry about being able to find it in the future. It can be ordered today, but such things have way of changing rapidly, and that round has always been a cast iron bitch. ------------------------------------------------ "Serious rifles have two barrels, everything else just burns gunpowder."

What do you mean "cast iron bitch?" Shouldn't 200 rounds last quite a while on a low pressure round? square shooter

It isn't exactly a low pressure round, but my comment really had to do with availability, not case life. It isn't a 9.3X74R. Availability of .375 Flanged Magnum brass has always been iffy, and at times has been impossible to obtain. It's more available today than it's ever been and it's still not easy. Trust me, that cycle will repeat itself again. I would not invest in a .375 Flanged Magnum rifle today unless I could obtain a minimum of 500 rounds of good brass at the same time. It isn't worth the headache. Save yourself the aggravation and buy all the brass you'll need at one time. ------------------------------------------------ "Serious rifles have two barrels, everything else just burns gunpowder."

Read my post on 375 Flanged brass that Jamison will have available by end of year. "An individual with experience is never at the mercies of an individual with an argument"
