Got my 450-400 dies from Hornady this week. I put my order in 2nd week of Feb or so, so they were pretty close in time estimate of 6 to 8 weeks. Cost for 2 die set was $175, which is cheaper than RCBS off the shelf. Lonnie Hummel was great to deal with. I borrowed die from Ernest S to get started (Thanks, Rusty and Ernest!), but JJ had measured my chambers and found them slightly oversized so recommended custom if possible.

These dies have the new threaded stem for sizer/decapper, so no slippage. I've just resized a few cases and they fit the chambers fine. Won't get to shoot and reload for another week or so but everything so far looks great.

I sent in 2 fired cases from each barrel for fitting.

Lonnie is at (800) 338-3220 ext 208 if anybody is interested in info or orders.

I use the CH 4D stuff also... they have always had mine in stock on the 3 orders I made.. 470 capstick, 358 norma, and they even had my 475 3.25" nitro express dies in stock.. the most expensive set was $140 and I got them within days of ordering... that's quality, convenience and customer service that's hard to beat..

you guys should take a look at them.. their other reloading equipment and accessories are top notch.. I bought the 444 press, and it's very nice, and functions perfectly..

I've tried CH4D dies in flanged Nitro Express calibers twice. Neither set could be made to work at all. The low price isn't worth the aggravation.

I tried CH4D for 475#2 (.488) Jeffery and got dies for the 475 #2 (.483). This after a nice conversation with the owner and making sure that he knew that I was ordering the dies for the .488 caliber. Sent them back and they redid them. I ordered RCBS while they were back at the facgtory.

The shell holder they sent me for a 500 3 inch NEwas so out of specs that it would not allow the priming arm to seat the primer. Worthless!
