Sorry if I'm getting to be a bore with all my questions, comments, and general giddiness regarding my first double rifle...biut, dammit, I'm having a good time Big Grin

I took her to the local range this afternoon and threw a few rounds downrange. I was shooting Federal Premium 500gr Woodleigh Weldcore SPs. At 25yds, she managed a 3/4" two-shot group and at 100yds a 6 1/8" one. I am more than pleased and believe I can do better with practice.

Recoil was surprisingly mild -- very mild. Much more tame than my CZ .416 Rigby.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! 'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

That is great, the merkel is a very accurate rifle, I had a 470 that would shoot just over an inch at 70 yards whtn I did my part..
Lots of people knock the merkel, they are the best buy on the market. Really solid gun that shoots great
