1) How/Where did Butch Searcy learn Double Rifle Craft?? 2) It seems like a LOT of folks in the U.S. put together nice magazine/bolt rifles. Is there room for another good maker of working double rifles in the same price and quality range as searcy? (Ornamentation not withstanding.) 3) Can good boxlock WORKING/UTILITY GRADE doubles be made for significantly less $$$ than Searcy?? Searcy rifles seem to be a very good value. Matt FISH!! Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984: "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

I'm not sure about the answer to #1, but he did say that his uncle was a Barreler for one of the top DR firms. Don't hold me to this, but I think it was Westley Richards. I think gunsmithing is in his family. 577NitroExpress Double Rifle Shooters Society Francotte .470 Nitro Express If stupidity hurt, a lot of people would be walking around screaming...

If you eliminate the word "good" from your question, then the answer is YES - see the Baikal guns from Russia.
