Today I sold over 200 pieces of .577 brass. Most were primed and I had to snap the primers to be legal to post. I did this between sets of exercising with weights (the weight room is next to the reloading room). What a great aroma! Afterwards I went for a walk for an hour and the basement and home smelled of primer smoke. I would like to bottle this and sell as women's perfume. Almost as good as Hoppe's #9 or the smell of new gun powder. And these, too, would smell great on a woman. Or, maybe I've been wintered in my Alaska cabin too long. _______________________________ Cal Pappas, Willow, Alaska www.CalPappas.com www.CalPappas.blogspot.com 1994 Zimbabwe 1997 Zimbabwe 1998 Zimbabwe 1999 Zimbabwe 1999 Namibia, Botswana, Zambia--vacation 2000 Australia 2002 South Africa 2003 South Africa 2003 Zimbabwe 2005 South Africa 2005 Zimbabwe 2006 Tanzania 2006 Zimbabwe--vacation 2007 Zimbabwe--vacation 2008 Zimbabwe 2012 Australia 2013 South Africa 2013 Zimbabwe 2013 Australia 2016 Zimbabwe 2017 Zimbabwe 2018 South Africa 2018 Zimbabwe--vacation 2019 South Africa 2019 Botswana 2019 Zimbabwe vacation 2021 South Africa 2021 South Africa (2nd hunt a month later) ______________________________

No, Cal, you are correct. Even my ex-wife commented on more than one occasion that they should make a Hoppes #9 cologne. + I know for a fact that when I shoot a 22 LR, I am instantly drawn back to my childhood by the smell. Never mistake motion for action.

Oh, + BTW, the smell of Hoppes #9 helps cure headaches as well. Don't ask me why, but it does. Never mistake motion for action.

G. Gordon Liddy used to advise women that a little Hoppes behind the ear is a sure way to attract a good man. I miss his radio show! USMC Retired DSC Life Member SCI Life Member NRA Life Member

Primer smoke, .22 smoke and the very best aroma of all -- the smell of a freshly fired paper shotgun shell! There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

My seven year old granddaughter came into my shop/reloading room recently and said that it smelled so nice. Took me a minute to realize that it was the Hoppe's No. 9.

Nothing beats the smell of 12 gage paper hulls just after being fired.

I like the smell, but not enough to discharge primers indoors…
