Are O/U double rifles usually less sensitve to change in loads than SxS double rifles?

I realize that individual rifles even from the same manufacturer will vary but just looking for a general trend.

Also would the regulation of an O/U be less likely to be affected by adding a scope than a SxS? Again, generally speaking.

And please, let's not get into a debate on which is more appropriate for DG or anything else. horse

DB,
The problem historically is the O/U, is hard to load the bottom barrel in a stress situation, other than that I see no difference..but that is a serious ill in a DGR..

NO!

Slightly less, because of the O/U not haveing the side flip. But it still will usually effect the regulation, to some degree.

The one thing that needs saying here is, the trigger, and cocking system in the O/U has more to do with it's suitability for a DGR, than the configuration of the barrels. If the rifle has two triggers, and cocks both barrels on opening, then it is viable, if not, then it is a liability!

having a few of each i'll put my .02 worth in. IME the best shooters are a couple of O/U berettas. I also had a sodia o/u that you could hit the broad side of a barn with from the inside. While i prefer sxs i find myself using the berettas more because of their accuracy. I have scopes on both berettas, neither one had accuracy affected. i also scoped a merkel 470 which did not affect either, i have a wm evans that someone else scoped that wowrks just fine. the sodias had a claw mt scope too, but i don't think it was the scopes problem with that rifle. end of story is think is that the choice is all yours. if you like sxs more go that way, if you want or need a scope, do it, that's the only way you'll find out
